Traveling to Thailand: Things to know

Thailand can be visited year-round, although weather patterns vary between the north, central regions and the southern coasts.

November to February | Best time to go

The weather is pleasantly cool, dry, and sunny, perfect for traveling anywhere in the country. Specially, the season is made even more special by the famous Loy Krathong and Yi Peng festivals.

March to May | Hot

It gets hot and sunny, with little rain. Travel is still very doable, especially for shopping, city stays, and cultural experiences. April is especially lively thanks to Songkran, though it also brings bigger crowds.

June to October | Rainy

Rainy season across much of the country, bringing higher humidity and regular tropical showers.

_______

#Important note: For beach lovers, the Gulf side (like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) follows a slightly different pattern from the rest of the country.

From February to July, the weather is generally dry with calm seas, great for beach time, snorkeling, and diving. From August to December, rainfall increases and the sea can be rougher at times, though there are still some good weather windows in between.
