The timeless charm of Hoi An. Begin in Central Vietnam with a taste of Da Nang's local cuisine before heading to Hoi An, a former trading port with a rich mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. Walk through the Old Town's narrow lanes, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge and explore historic merchant houses and temples. The lantern-lit streets and well-preserved architecture give the town its distinctive character.

From coconut waterways to coastal Da Nang. Spend the morning in Cam Thanh village, where you can ride a traditional bamboo basket boat through the water coconut forest, try local fishing techniques and learn about life along the waterways. Later, discover Da Nang's coastal scenery at Non Nuoc Beach and Marble Mountains, then browse Han Market for local products and souvenirs.

A mountain escape above the clouds. Take the cable car up to Ba Na Hills for sweeping views of the surrounding forests and mountains. Walk across the famous Golden Bridge, held by giant sculpted hands, and explore the gardens, Linh Ung Pagoda and mountain viewpoints. With its cooler air and dramatic scenery, Ba Na Hills offers a refreshing contrast to the historic streets and beaches below.

The country has a rather variable climate, stretching 2,000 km from north to south and with approximately three-quarters of the country being mountainous. Tropical, hot, and humid. Monsoons divide the year into two seasons: a hot and rainy one from May to October/November, and a cool and dry one from December to April. There is a risk of typhoons between September and October, when the summer monsoon transitions into the winter monsoon. In the central part of the country, the monsoon season begins in July and ends in January.

Vietnam uses the Vietnamese Dong (VND) for most daily transactions. While some places may accept USD or EUR, it’s not very common, so it’s always more convenient to pay in local currency.

Cash is still widely used, especially in local markets and small shops while credit cards are accepted at hotels, malls, and more upscale restaurants, sometimes with a small surcharge.

ATMs are easy to find in cities and tourist areas, so withdrawing cash is generally simple and convenient.
